About Web5
"Where Web2 meets Web3, and have little Web5 babies. So CUUUTE!!"
Introductions are in order
What if Web2 and Web3 got together, and what if they made something new?
Something that would combine the best parts of both of them, and make something bigger and better even than the sum of it's parts.

Humble Beginnings
From table-top Arcade cabinets, through home Consoles, PC gaming, Mobile and esports, the gaming landscape has been crafted and refined these past 50+ years.
Now larger than both the Music & Film industries combined, games are played as official sports, have communities numbering in the hundreds of millions, and are launching musicians and brands.

Change is inevitable.
Change is natural.

The Revolution
Early entrants in web3 promised a world where games and ecosystems would unite, granting asset sovereignty, ecosystem participation and financial freedom.

But with short term financial incentives that prioritised 'Earn' mechanics to attract players, rather than 'Fun' mechanics, gameplay itself was often neglected, resulting in games that resemble ponzi-schemes, more than games.

The Evolution
Meaningful changes are often an evolution, and not a revolution.
In Web5, Web2 gameplay principles combine with Web3 ecosystems, putting gameplay first, while also leveraging new technologies to enhance the experience for players and game communities.
Whether the simple freedom to trade games, or an in-depth participation ecosystem, Web5 promises an approach that enhances, rather than replaces.

Gameplay is king.
Games so good that you play them regardless of any potential external ecosystem changes.

Streamlined UX, and new technologies so seamlessly integrated that you don't notice them.

Web2 problems / Web5 Solutions:
Custodial game ownership → Personal game ownership
Selling game accounts → Direct P2P transfers
Game obsoletion → Game preservation

Web5 allows players to interact with digital items using trading and economic principles that evolved in the physical world.
The Web5 UX
Gone are the days of convoluted 21 step Web3 game onboarding hurdles.
Web5 UX uses Usernames and Passwords, or one-click Sign-In via trusted third partyies such as Google, Apple, etc. As you've come to expect.

...But what about the Wallets?
Web3 wallets are auto generated, secured and are recoverable via your user authentication.
Players can chose whether they want to interact with these wallets to trade, or not.

Players can also connect with existing wallets that they control the keys for.
Wait! There's more...!

The security, escrow and logic built into Web5 smart contracts unlocks ecosystem opportunities that can enhance the gameplay experience, and elevate gaming communities in ways that weren't previously possible.
Contribution Rewards :
Active players are rewarded for contributing to the community, aligned by mutual incentives.
Community Ecosystem:

Communities are rewarded for positive involvement with game services, increasing engagement while decreasing demands on developers.
Content Creation :
Players craft and share game experiences, allowing ideas and communities to flourish, without developer induced constraints.
Automated Pay-Out:
Game rewards and token distributions are built into the underlying contracts, so that incentives are transparent, dependable and automatic.

...So, great. But how does all of this apply to Wonderman Nation...?!!
Wonderman's Win — Win Web5
- Expansive and fun gameplay
- Next level community participation
- Fair distribution of rewards between developers and players

Free to Play!
Every experience in Wonderman Nation has F2P access, with zero pay-to-win mechanics. All players exist within the same ecosystem, but interact with it however they like.

Creature Ownership & Rewards
Players can participate in PvP battles with free creatures in free battles, and in free tournaments, for fun. Entry into prized tournaments requires the use of premium creatures.
Premium creatures can either be used by their owners in battles, or they can be contributed into a 'Community Creature Pool' for global unrestricted access to prized battles.

Anyone can use a creature from the pool for a prized battle and, when victorious, rewards are split between the battler and the premium creature owner.
Creatures are returned back to the Community Creature Pool after a battle.

Community Alliances & Tournaments
Allowing players to form communities, build battle arenas, host tournaments and then share in the global reward pool is a great way to naturally balance supply and demand, while empowering the community with the freedom and independence to provide services that meet their own requirements.
